Rather than dampening microfiber dust cloths with just plain water, concoct a lovely, naturally scented dust cloth. Simply simmer a sliced-up lemon and a few sprigs of fresh rosemary in water, and use the resulting scented water to dampen clean dust cloths.

Have kids? Then you know competition is a great motivator. Assign each child a few areas of the home to dust, and give them the proper cleaning gear. Then set a timer for 10 or 15 minutes. Ask everyone to pull out one slip of paper each day and tackle whatever zone is listed. When the jar is empty, restock it.
