Installing your Air Purifier Filter

For proper performance, we recommend you change your filter every 6 months or when notified by the device's indicator light. You may want to change the filter more frequently if you're remodeling, you have pets, or if someone in the home smokes.

Select your Air Purifier.

Main Filter

Step 1

Turn off the Smart Air Purifier. Remove the filter cover on the back of the device.
Step 2

Remove the used filter from the filter slot by using the tab on the bottom of the filter.
Step 3

Replace it with a new Filtrete™ Smart Air Purifier filter. Insert the filter at an angle so it is parallel with and placed on top of the grill. The filter should be at an angle in its final position.
Step 4

Replace the filter door on the back of the device by inserting the two pegs on the bottom of the door in the holes on the bottom of the filter door opening. Then push the filter door toward the air purifier until it locks in place.
Step 5

Turn on the air purifier. For Smart Air Purifiers, hold the FILTER button for 3 seconds to reset the filter life tracker. For traditional Room Air Purifiers, hold the RESET button for 3 seconds.

Pre-filter Screens

Step 1

Turn off the air purifier. Pull the two filter screens out of the back of the air purifier.
Step 2

Vacuum the pre-filter screens, and/or use water to rinse the pre-filters clean. Ensure the pre-filter is dry before reinstalling it in the device.
Step 3

Insert the pre-filters back into their designated slots – remember, the two pre-filters are different, and only fit on their respective side.
Step 4

Turn on the air purifier, then tap the RESET button once to reset the pre-filter change indicator.

Console Devices

Step 1

Turn off the Smart Air Purifier. Using one hand on each side, remove the filter cover on the front of the device by pulling the finger tabs located at the top of the side air intake vents.
Step 2

Remove the used filter from the filter slot and replace it with a new Filtrete™ Smart Air Purifier filter –install the new filter in the same manner as the previous filter.

Odor Reduction Carbon Pre-Filter: To install a pre-filter, cut filter material to size and place on top of new filter.
Step 3

Replace the filter cover on the front of the device by inserting the two pegs on the bottom of the cover in the holes on the bottom of the device. Then push the filter cover toward the Smart Air Purifier until it locks in place.
Step 4

Turn on the air purifier. For Smart Air Purifiers, hold the FILTER button for 3 seconds to reset the filter life tracker. For traditional Room Air Purifiers, hold the RESET button for 3 seconds.

Tabletop Device

Step 1

Turn off air purifier. Remove the filter cover on the back of the air purifier by pulling the top of the cover.
Step 2

Using one hand on each side remove the used filter from the filter slot and replace it with a new Filtrete™ air filter. Install the new filter in the same manner as the previous filter.

Odor Reduction Carbon Pre-Filter: To install a pre-filter, cut filter material to size. Place on top of new filter, on the side facing the front cover.
Step 3

Replace the filter cover by aligning the tabs on the bottom of the cover with the bottom of the device and then pushing the top of filter cover toward the air purifier until it locks into place.
Step 4

Turn on the air purifier, then hold the RESET button for 3 seconds to reset the filter change indicator.
